Course Aim: The aim of this course is to refresh delegates knowledge and skills to administer safe and effective First Aid in their working environment in line with UK & European Resuscitation Council guidelines.
Course Content: Role of a First Aider | Importance of preventing cross infection | Assessing the situation in order to act safely in an emergency | Accident recording and reporting | First Aid equipment | Unconscious casualty (including seizures) | Recovery position | CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) | AED (Automated External Defibrillator) | Choking | Bleeding | Shock | Minor & Major injuries (small cuts, grazes, bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters, animal bites and stings, amputations) | Seizures and Epilepsy | Asthma | Chest Injuries | Eye Injuries | Poisoning | Burns & scalds| Anaphylaxis | Fractures, sprains & strains | Head and spinal injuries | Heart attack | Stroke | Diabetes | Effects of extremes of heat/cold | Electrical incidents
